Andorra – Mountains with style

Surrounded by beautiful landscapes the Pyrenees’ paradise Andorra, offers you mountains with style. Mild summers and winters provide for pleasant weather all year round. In winter you get to enjoy skiing and in summer hiking alongside other leisure activities as driving buggies, playing golf and getting to know the different towns all over the country, make up a full schedule of enjoyable activities.

Beautiful mountain parish

A beautiful parish surrounded by an astonishing view is Canillo. Hidden between the mountains, it is the highest parish of Andorra. The picturesque scenery makes up a wonderful setting for romantic walks and outdoor picnics. The small town lying in the valley is also worth a visit, providing sports equipment shops, as well as a fine selection of locally produced goods as sausages, ham, cheese and wine. A wonderful place to choose the right ingredients for your perfect picnic basket.

In addition to these wonderful activities, Canillo is also home to the famous ski resort Grandvalira. It offers you quite a great deal of activities for all seasons. In winter there is also the possibility of mushing. Enjoy time with your friends, your family or your partner and witness how the dogs pull your sled along snowy slopes through the forest.

More to do within the mountains

Another attractive feature of the mountains of Soldeau is the highest golf course in Europe. Here you get to enjoy playing golf within a stirring panorama. Hills, mountains and lakes make up the magnificent landscape which is interlinked by walking tracks and paths. Cycling is another activity favoured by residents and visitors alike. “Le Tour de France” toughest 55 km were run in Andorra this year making it a worldwide renown destination for road cycling.

Naturlandia represents a great way to spend a weekend in Andorra. The adventure park lies right in the middle of Sant Julià de Lòria and offers a great diversity of attractions, such as the longest alpine coaster in the world, a sky tower, archery, mini golf, and an animal park. Paintball is yet another sport for energetic youth and pony riding and trampolines will thrill the hearts of children.

In July you may also enjoy some of the finest acrobatics. Cirque du Soleil is currently offering three completely different shows in Andorra. It has been visiting Andorra for four years in a row and will most likely continue to do so. As you can see, Andorra truly offers mountains with style and activities for all age groups. If you are a nature lover like me, life never gets boring in this beautiful country.
